NetEnt, with its policy of entering only regulated gaming markets, has been in the process of entering the US gaming market in areas where gaming is legalized and regulated. The digital entertainment company is currently awaiting full licensing in New Jersey, and has already received the go ahead to ready begin rolling out its product in the Garden State.
Although it is unclear what the future holds as far as online gambling and legalization go in the United States, the igaming company has found yet another way to move forward with its products on US soil. NetEnt has entered the US Simulated Gaming market in collaboration with GAN, until recently known as Game Account Network.
NetEnt Signs Agreement with GAN
NetEnt and GAN have entered into an agreement by which NetEnt will provide games to GAN players. Although there is no direct wagering in the Simulated Gaming market, NetEnt will be benefiting by getting its brand out into the US gaming market, reaching new demographics and laying the foundations for potential future regulated online gaming in the United States.
While Simulated Gaming does not have wagering on specific games, players can purchase virtual currency to top up their gaming balances. Players do not earn cash for their winnings, but rather non-cash prizes.
Björn Krantz, the Managing Director of NetEnt Americas LLC, said: “We are very excited to be entering the simulated gaming market. The agreement with GAN will allow land-based casinos in the US to introduce NetEnt’s online casino games to their player community ahead of possible state regulations. The opportunity to build early recognition and loyalty regarding our best-in-breed gaming titles fits perfectly into our long term growth strategy in the US.”
The Chief Executive Officer of GAN, Dermot Smurfit, spoke about the new agreement: “We are delighted to support NetEnt’s entry into the US market and on behalf of our land-based casino operator clients we welcome their compelling gaming experience onboard our Simulated Gaming platform.”
GAN, recently re-branded from the well-known Game Account Network, develops and provides Business to Business gaming software. The company works with both real money gaming and simulated online gaming. GAN is listed on the AIM Market of the London Stock Exchange, and on the ESM Market of the Irish Stock Exchange.
