The digital gaming software provider, NetEnt, has ventured into Mexico with its partner Codere. This is the first time that NetEnt has moved into the regulated Latin American gaming market. By taking this move, NetEnt is furthering its company’s strategy of entering regulated gaming markets around the world.
NetEnt already has an existing agreement with Codere, and has extended its connection with the company by signing a new agreement with the Spanish gaming operator. Codere already operates land-based casinos in Italy, Latin America, and Spain. The company already has a large foothold in the gaming market in Mexico both in the land-based and online industries.
NetEnt will be entering Mexico in cooperation with Codere using the Spanish gaming operator’s license. The digital gaming company will now provide its gaming portfolio to the Mexican market via Codere’s operations in the country.
In March 2015, NetEnt and Codere signed an agreement by which Codere would offer NetEnt games in the Spanish market. By December 2015, the games had been launched, and Spanish players were able to enjoy NetEnt’s quality content.
The Managing Director of NetEnt Americas LLC, Björn Krantz, commented on the new agreement: “I am really excited to enter the regulated online casino market in Mexico together with Codere. This is our first market entry in Latin America and marks another milestone as we follow our long-term strategy to enter and grow in new regulated markets. I’m convinced that we can support Codere’s online casino growth and that players in Mexico will enjoy our world-class, thrilling games.”
